ANGELA TUCKER (DIRECTOR) is an Emmy nominated producer, writer and director. Her directorial work includes PAPER CHASE, a teen comedy in pre production with Gunpowder and Sky; ALL STYLES, a dance movie in post production starring Fik-Shun (SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE) and Heather Morris (GLEE); BLACK FOLK DON’T, a documentary web series in its fourth season featured in Time Magazine’s “10 Ideas That Are Changing Your Life” and (A)SEXUAL a feature length documentary about people who experience no sexual attraction that streamed on Netflix and Hulu for four years. She is in her sixth year as Series Producer of the PBS strand, AFROPOP and was Co-Producer on THE NEW BLACK. Previously, she was the Director of Production at Big Mouth Films, a social issue documentary production company. There, she worked on several award-winning documentaries, including PUSHING THE ELEPHANT (PBS’ Independent Lens). In 2006, she co-founded TuckerGurl LLC, a production company passionate about telling compelling and irreverent stories about underrepresented communities. Tucker was a Sundance Institute Women Filmmakers Initiative fellow. She received her MFA in Film from Columbia University.


JOLENE PINDER (PRODUCER) is a New Orleans-based documentary producer and currently serves as the Executive Director of #CreateLouisiana, a grantmaking organization designed to champion Louisiana talent in film. Prior to this role, she served as the Executive Director of the New Orleans Film Society—the producer of the Oscar-qualifying New Orleans Film Festival—for six years. For four years prior, she worked at Arts Engine / Big Mouth Productions in NYC as a documentary film producer and Director of the Media That Matters Film Festival. She recently produced the documentary short, "All Skinfolk Ain't Kinfolk" (dir. Angela Tucker), which premiered at DOC NYC in November 2018. Other documentary producing credits include: (A)sexual (premiered at Frameline Film Festival), Arctic Son (broadcast on POV), Election Day (broadcast on POV), and Pushing the Elephant (broadcast on Independent Lens). Her graduate thesis film "Bismillah" won the Student Emmy in the documentary category in 2008 and went on to a broadcast on Al-Jazeera. She is currently producing the documentary feature Hollow Tree, a recipient of development funding from the Sundance Documentary Film Program, Fork Films, and the International Documentary Association.


LINDSEY PHILLIPS (CAMERA & EDITOR) is a documentary filmmaker and editor based in Brooklyn, NY. She directed and edited The Exceptionally Extraordinary Emporium, a film about the significance of costuming in during Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and My Name Is Marc, And You Can Count On It, a film about Cleveland cult icon Marc Brown and his eccentric commercials promoting his furniture store. As a documentary filmmaker, Lindsey has worked on projects for publications such as Time Magazine, The New Yorker, CNN’s Great Big Story, and Netflix docu-series Flint Town. Lindsey is currently part of the UnionDocs CoLab Studio residency program in New York.

SULTANA ISHAM (ORGINAL SCORE) is an award-winning avant-garde composer, violinist, and scholar based in New Orleans, LA. Sultana, an alumna of Syracuse University and Red Bull Music Academy, composes string scores merged with indigenous percussive sounds in addition to voice and movement. She is also a member of Les Cenelles, a contemporary string ensemble preserving creole folk tunes merged with technology. She has performed with many artists such as John Mayer and Pink Floyd. Her EP, "Blood Moon," available on bandcamp, is described as 'a musical journey of transmutation,' and has appeared on local and international stations including NTS Radio in London. Sultana's film composer credits include Nii Journal II, directed by Campbell Addy in London, UK, and Blood Runs Down, directed by Zandashé Brown which earned her a 'Best Score' nomination from Women in Horror Film Festival. Sultana is the winner of the 2018 48Hour Film Project award for 'Best Musical Score' for Goddess House, directed by Marion Hill. "Music is like magick, an invisible art used to create and destroy."
